The Daily Beer and Bike Log Jan 12, 2015: Catch up from the weekend

So over the weekend, there was not going to be much going on in the Mountain bike area. Shitty weather and football games were on. I did get a chance to view Strength In Numbers

A great Documentary about different riders from different bike disciplines around the country. Downhillers, Trail riders and guys who have built up this jump park from a single jump since they were kids, to a destination place for riders worldwide. The flick starts out with the narrator talking about the first time those training wheels come off and the freedom you feel. I think anyone who has ever riden a bike can relate.

I can say after watching this and Where the Trail Ends

there are not too many sports that have the beauty of Mountain Biking, and when I say beauty I don’t necessarily  mean the actual riding, although that in itself to a viewer like me is beautiful. I mean the landscape,

the forest, the mountains, everything and everywhere a rider can go to enjoy their sport.
I know speaking for myself, in just my small parks locally stop once and a while and just take it in, someday maybe I can go to a place like Utah and even if I can’t ride like the pros just to take in the surroundings and ride what I can would be worth it.
Like I said, it was playoff weekend in football ( I am a Patriots Fan, My Wife and her family are Packers fans, it could get interesting in a few weeks) and I had to try and grab something to try on the beer side of this blog. My wife Sarah and I went to Randall’sWine and Spirits store, It is an amazing place that pays just as much attention to the Beer as it does to the wine. (ratings and all)

Same as I always had done looking for music or movies, years ago, I started at one end and browsed my way from craft beers of the US to Foreign beer looking for something to catch my eye. Now a ton caught my eye but I was out to find just one beer. I did find two that day since thaty had a clearance table wirth this on it. I am a game of thrones fan and it may be more for the novelty of the bottle but you never know it is an Ale and I enjoy ales. I decided for my tasting pleasure to try Folklore by Stillwater Artisanal Ales out ofBaltimore

I will give a full review of it in my Beers to Try before you Die Beer bucket list later (so you know it is worth a try) All I can say is very diferent and very good. I also got an opportunity to try a beer my Sister in Law Katie brought over for the Packers Game this one was 1881 Indigenous California Red Ale from Ruhstaller in Sacremento

again I will reserve a review in my 52 beers again an excellent brew. I also had my first Sam Adams Cream Stout of the year over the weekend,

now this beer I have had in the past and this is in my top beers list pushing on the title of Go To against the Octoberfest so it will also turn up in the Beer Bucket at some point. Other than both our families teams winning and some fun and tasty drinking over the weekend not much else to say than the work week has begun and shit weather is on the way…………

Disclaimer: I am no expert in anything on this blog as it states it is a Beginners journey into Mountain Biking and Beer Brewing. These are just opinion and observation pieces through my eyes as things happen. It is my personal journal for the world to see, that is all. Anything technical I would always refer you to some sort of expert, be it a brewer, or bike shop.
