So in trying different Pale Ales I have come to the
conclusion although most taste great (meaning they have taste unlike some
watered down beers out there) they are a lighter taste than my usual Stouts,
Porters and now IPAs, but what I would categorize as a nice Ballpark or barbeque
beer.
With that being said if the above is in your “ballpark” so
to speak these may rate higher on your own personal rating system, for those
who have followed this blog you know I enjoy the heavier beers. So As I grabbed
a bottle of Fire Rock Pale Ale from Kona Brewing
Fire Rock was perfect for what I was
doing. Making some chicken on the grill. I had finished a run and was making
diner and figured this seemed like a good try so after tasting the beer, I was
right nice smooth and refreshing Pale Ale. It had a nice citrus hop to it, but
not as much as you would find in a summer style Ale and it had no aftertaste.
I would say I could give this one a solid 2 beer rating it
was a good beer for the barbecue
Disclaimer I am a beer drinker and a beginner home brewer the above is only my taste buds telling me what I enjoy, it is not the law or rule of the land, these would be the beers that I am grateful to have tried before the day comes when I pass on and meet my maker.
